The Illinois Muskie Tournament Trail Spring Classic!
This past weekend, 19 anglers fished the IMTT Spring Classic on Kinkaid Lake. The anglers were met with a slow post-spawn bite and a very wet

fishing to the tournament with some heavy rain and even small hail in the last hour of fishing time on Sunday.
While there were a few fish contacted, a couple of short fish caught, and one lost at the net, there was only one team that managed to put a qualifying fish in the net. Ron Haynes managed a 36″ fish that secured the 1st place finish for him and his partner Phil Gutmann. Being the only fish caught, the fish was worth $1,900 for the first place team. That fish was then also the Big Fish for the tournament.
We apologize for no leader board or giant check pictures for this tournament, but we were attempting to get the awards wrapped up quickly in the rain.
We appreciate those who came out to fish with us this past weekend. We were able to hold our normal Saturday evening dinner and raffle. This allowed us to raise more funds for the IMTT, but we also collected 268 food items to donate to the Murphysboro food pantry.
Our next event is scheduled for May 22nd & 23rd at Banner Marsh. This will be a split tournament.
Please check out our website for details.
