The Illinois Muskie Tournament Trail sets a new schedule for 2021!

The Illinois Muskie Tournament Trail has a new schedule for 2021 for any questions  shoot them a message through their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/IllinoisMuskies/

Below it is a little history of the IMTT and what they stand for.

The IMTT is an Illinois Not-For-Profit Corporation set up through the cooperation of existing muskie clubs throughout the state. Our mission is to promote interaction and camaraderie among muskie anglers while helping maintain and expand Illinois fisheries. Formed in 2002, the IMTT is unique in that we work as a statewide adjunct to the Illinois Dept of Natural Resources www.dnr.illinois.gov, Illini Muskies Alliance www.illinimuskiesalliance.org, several Muskies Inc. chapters www.muskiesinc.org and independent muskie clubs.
The IMTT conducts a tournament trail each year. In 2014 there will be 5 tournaments on the circuit culminating with a State Championship tournament in late Oct

ober. We are not one of the “big payout”tournament groups but quite the opposite. We are a not-for-profit entity with over 50% of each tournament’s entry fees combined with 100% of our fundraising efforts being donated to improve the Illinois fisheries and promote the sport. We purchase needed equipment for the state’s Division of Fisheries and the Jake Wolf State Fish Hatchery. These funds are vital to the survival of the fisheries in Illinois and are no longer available through state appropriations.

The IMTT awards an annual scholarship to a Fisheries Biology major. Each year our members contribute time and labor toward habitat improvement events such as Youth Fishing Day Outings, lake ‘Clean Up’ days and installing handicap railings at lake sites throughout the state. The IMTT also conducts a Youth Program which encourages youngsters to participate in muskie fishing. Each year at the annual Chicago Muskie Show www.chicagomuskieshow.com we present the IMTT Youth Honor Roll awards (plaques, trophies and rods/reels to kids who entered their muskie catches in our (no fee) Youth Fishing Program. As such our tournaments aren’t just about the fisherman but also about promoting the sport and improving the fishery for future generations.
