Muskellunge Club of Wisconsin – More Than a Club…a Family!

Muskellunge Club of Wisconsin pulls together to help one of their families……

On November 21, 2021 something terrible happened in Waukesha, Wisconsin. A vehicle tore through a Christmas parade, taking the lives of 6 people and injuring so many more.   Unfortunately, what happened at the parade that Sunday in Waukesha affected the Muskellunge Club of Wisconsin (MCW) in a very personal way. Erick Tiegs, playing trombone for Waukesha South High School was among those struck by the vehicle.  Donny Tiegs, His father, is a guide in Wisconsin that has generously offered his services to help raise money for MCW.

Two days later, the Muskellunge Club of Wisconsin (MCW), went into action with members and friends, families, companies, and sponsors to plan a benefit for Erick Tiegs. With a great team of MCW volunteers, we pulled it off in only 26 days!   The benefit on December19th had over 100 attendees. Things happened fast, but the musky community really pulled together to do something bigger than musky fishing! It is with sincere appreciation I share with you the success of the MCW- Tiegs Benefit.  Contributions are still coming in, and to date, over $23,000 has been raised for the family.   After an intense hospital stay, Erick is now at home rehabilitating, and he can walk again without aid for short distances.  His recovery will be long and full of challenges, and we plan to be there along the way.

The Muskellunge Club of Wisconsin is the world’s oldest Musky fishing club, established in 1953!
