Kinkaid Lake Report from Scott Donovan Shawnee Expeditions

4″ Rattlin Shad

With the storms subsiding and warmer temps settling in, the Shawnee Expeditions crew is on some nice fish. Chris (Riebe) put his clients on a fat 46” female this past weekend after a couple multiple fish days in a row. Scott and his clients ended the weekend with 10 in the boat. It was numbers game with the biggest being 35”, but each day offered a chance at a mid 40” fish. Water temps are low 50’s by the afternoon and the water clarity ranged from stained in the Johnson Creek area to 2 ft clarity by the dam. Water treatment area and then down into the marina area has been packed with boats targeting about every species on the lake. North end has also seen an increase in anglers targeting pre-spawn Muskies. With this current warm up, it will be nice to have the main lake fish start moving into their spawning areas. If you are not throwing something with a rattle you’re missing out.
