Guide Lines with Kurt Kimpton: Wisconsin River

Low water and almost no flow has made fishing tough. The heatwave has finally broke and water temps are holding strong between 73 and 75. Friday night we encountered 2 fish off wood structure adjacent to the main river channel. Unfortunately they both short struck at boatside on glide baits. Later on as the sun began to set we switched to top water and focused on a weed bed that is known to hold fish and it didn’t take long before we had 1 in the bag. As we wait for rain and hopefully a rise in water levels I would assume that the fishing will pick up as temperatures begin to stabilize.
