Guide Lines with Kurt Kimpton: Wisconsin River
This past week we finally got some much needed rain, and the dams finally had some good flow coming through them to cool things down a bit. I fished Friday night and Saturday night with good success putting 5 fish topside. Bucktails and top water are the go-to baits right now. Water temps were ranging from 77.5 to 78 in most places I fished. The fish we located were holding on steep breaks and large sand flats adjacent to the main river channel. With the cooler temps this week I expect to see water temps hold in the mid to upper 70s and fishing should continue to be excellent this upcoming week.
