Guide Lines with Kurt Kimpton: Castle Rock/Wisconsin River Report

With water temps skyrocketing over the last week or so fishing has been limited to just the river where water temps are still holding in the low to mid 70s depending on the time of day. Temps on the main lake are ranging from uppers 70s to low 80s. Fishing has been hit and miss with short windows of opportunity. The fish are definitely holding in current areas with higher oxygen levels. We held our musky daze tournament over the weekend and had 20 boats enter and only 1 legal musky (over 34 inches) was caught. Due to high water temps we changed the hours of the tournament and only fished from 5am to 10am.
