Guide Lines with Ken Trail: Virginia
MH Fishing Report
12/1/21
Hunting season is now over and we are back at it! December
starts our winter season and that means big girls will be hitting
the net the next few months!
Water temperatures are currently in the mid 40’s on the New
and James rivers. We need rain or snow bad, our river levels are
getting incredibly low. It’s making it tough to get around to
some of our favorite locations. With the low water comes ultra-
clear clarity. We are seeing 10’ of visibility in most areas. The
low water is congregating the fish in deeper locations and we
are having success catching some quality fish in those locations.
We are seeing most of our action on glide baits, Red October
Tubes, and mag bulldawgs ripped fairly aggressively still. Also
when the fish seem to be following and not committing we are
going to smaller size crank baits, like Llungen .22 shorts and
longs. We have also had some success on a jig past week or so.
New moon at the end of the week should have the fish
chomping!
Our schedule is filling up fast for the winter months for all of
Rock On’s guides! Give us a call to get in on that winter time,
pre-spawn action!
