Guide Lines with Jeremy Burris: Fox Chain of Lakes, IL
Water levels on the Fox Chain O Lakes are on the rise and is making for good navigation throughout the waterway and easy launching from most, if not all boat launches! Many muskies are on the spawning program but not all go at the same time so you can expect some potential pre spawn action as well.
Water conditions below the chain are still low but have been stable. A few muskies have been seen paired up and some are starting to transition to post spawn. Males are still holding tight to their spawning grounds and have been following baits slowly with some ready to eat pull and pause style lures. The northern pike are on full post spawn feed bag and the smallmouth are starting to fan beds which tell me the musky fishing will be really starting to pick up. Hot bait this week has been the little claw twitch bait by B&N Custom Tackle.
Good luck,
Jeremy Burris
