Guide Lines with Dustin Magnan: Twin Cities and Central Minnesota Fishing Report
This past week was a fun week. In the metro we got a bunch of action and scored fish up in the shallow weeds ten feet or less and a couple up in the two the three foot range. Again the hot lures were the Musky Mayhem 10-9 combo and slow rolling a detonator. The other lure they couldn’t resist is the Lake X Lil Bastard. Had a bunch of follows on both in addition to getting multiple to commit.
The weekend I was up on Lake Vermillion for the Larry Ramsell Muskie Outing. The bite was very difficult. There were roughly 95 guests along with ten guides and over the weekend only 8 fish were caught and released. A lot of fish were moving and some giants were brought to the boat but were lazy. This one pictured was part of a three fish day for me on Saturday and Ken scored this one just before the eight with a Detonator she couldn’t resist.
This weekend could be good. We had a warm up last week but temps are in the low 50’s throughout the week and low temps in the low 40’s. This should continue dropping that water temp and hopefully trigger the big ones to feed. Can’t wait to find out. Good luck everyone and tight lines.
