Guide Lines with Dustin Magnan: Twin Cities and Central Minnesota
This past week was full of action each day I was out on the water. The fish were moving, and attacking a lot of different baits. I was able to get out on a few different bodies of water in the metro and had most of our activity in the five to ten foot range, blasting out of weed breaks or on top of the weeds in early morning and late evening. My client Casey got this beauty on a TNA Angry Dragon. We moved a bunch of fish on the Musky Mayhem 10-9 and 13-10 combos as well but they didn’t want to commit on the eight. The cold weather is definitely pushing them into shallow water and getting them feeding. There’s nothing better than watching a gorgeous gal swim off back down to the depths to grow bigger and to let someone else catch her.
This weekend should continue with that success with the weather still in the 50’s for a low each night and the chance of rain Friday and Saturday. I did assist a fellow fisherman out with his eight year old daughter unhook and get pics of a 52.5” giant that she reeled in for her first muskie. This was caught trolling a shallow weed break with a Slammer. Good luck everyone and tight lines.
