After a week of miserably cold days, several inches of snow accumulation, and a few
rescheduled trips, we are back to normal here in Northwest Pa. Surface temperatures have dropped 5-
10 degrees in our region depending on location and surface temps are 48-53 degrees on the lakes I’ve
been fishing.

Tactics and locations haven’t changed much for me in the last 3 weeks. We’re still catching
good numbers of fish in their pre-spawn locations. Still getting fish to go on a few styles of baits
depending on the depth of water and height of the weeds. Smaller glide baits have been effective for
my clients while fishing shallow, shallow invaders and smaller twitch baits have been great on the weed
edges and areas with short weeds, and a variety of rubber baits have produced fish on the tougher days.
Other than very cold mornings and high winds, no complaints here.

Fish have yet to spawn on the few lakes I have been fishing lately and are still eating baits.
Looking forward to these warmer days ahead! Tight lines!
