Guide Lines from Kurt Kimpton: Wisconsin River
The river is back down to normal summer levels after all the rain we had 2 weeks ago. Daytime activity has slowed down dramatically, with only a few lazy follows here and there. The night bite has been decent but a lot of fish are biting short or just swiping at baits. The fish we are contacting have all been bigger fish. Water temps are ranging from 75 to 76.5 in most places I have fished. It seems to me that the dramatic change in water levels (about 6 foot high 2 weeks ago) has put the fish in a negative mood. Now that water levels are back down I would expect to see the bite start picking back up again.
