Guide Line with Jeremy Burris: The Fox Chain of Lakes

A massive heat wave pushed through northern Illinois over the weekend and increased the water temp from the mid 60s to the mid 70s. Weed growth has really taken a nice jump but with this has came a partial algae bloom and has warped visabilty on Channel Lake, Bluff lake and Lake Marie. Lake Catherine remains clear and the coolest lake on the Chain.

Casting rubber and Llungen tails has been productive on outside weed edges and secondary breaks. Trolling also remains hot but floating weeds has became a problem with increased recreational boating sky rocketing with the soaring temps. The Llungen lures Chubbie crankbaits has been the most productive. Major and minor moon phases have also played a huge role in success.

Good Luck,
Jeremy Burris
