Musky fishing has been consistent with a few opportunities a day if you’re persistent. Tennessee waterways are clear, cold and low after a long stretch of below average air temperature with little to no rain. Water temperature has been between 40-46 degrees. Gizzard Shad are schooled up in the feeder creeks and larger coves with more biomass even though these areas hold the coldest water. The cold water has the Shad stressed out and dying. Working these areas with slow moving baits and trolling large baits slow and high in the water column has produced some big fish the past week. This weeks forecasted rain should make fishing more consistent with increased inflow and some color on the water.
