Day 3 of Ladies Musky School hosted at the Deerfoot Lodge
The 3rd and Final Day of Ladies Musky School. Our Speaker for the Day was Brenda Maier of True North Guide Service. Brenda discussed Canoe & River Fishing for Muskie. Brenda also took two Ladies fishing in her Canoe Yesterday. Those two Ladies were the only ones to catch Musky during the weekend of School. Brenda explained techniques, lures and how to find structures to aid in catching Musky on rivers. Brenda also passed around lures that have been successful for her and her clients. Brenda also showed us spinning rods that she uses. Her class was also accompanied by short videos. I believe that many of us will plan on booking a trip with her in the near future. Brenda has donated a trip each year of the Ladies Musky School.
Next task of the day was drawing the lucky raffle tickets. The four trips included a 3day stay at Cave Run Resort including 1 day of Guided Fishing with Tony Grant, A guided canoe Muskie trip with True North Guide Service -Brenda Maier, A guided trip with Bent Rod Guide Service – TJ Gramberg and a Guided Pontoon trip on the Chippewa Flowage. All tickets sold will go to Support “ Fishing Without Boundaries “.
The next few hours involved Gear Set Up, Casting Practice , Island Shore Fishing and Fishing time for those in boats. At 1:00 PM Everyone Met for the Grand Prize Drawing, photo contest winner results and Commencement for the 2021 Ladies Musky School. It was time for hugs, smiles, laughs and creating new contacts. There were even some tears shed.
This was our 4th Annual Ladies Muskie School. Each Year has been Inspirational, Empowering, and Enjoyable. It is also Heartfelt as Memories and Friendships are Made. No matter what skill level one is; there is always more valuable knowledge learned each year. I look forward to next year!
