
Day 2 of the 4th Annual Ladies Musky School at Deerfoot Lodge and Resort – update
The second day of Ladies Musky School started at 9:00 AM with 3 speakers. Our first speaker was Cindy Neurohr. Cindy is a Local and Experienced Angler. Cindy also donated her custom made wire leaders to all attending. Cindy’s class was Musky 101. During her class Cindy discussed equipment ranging from rods, reels nets and fishing line. Cindy also discussed tools to have in the boat including pliers, bolt cutters and mouth spreaders.
Our 2nd speaker of the day was Nicole King of Nicole Lynn Outdoors. Nicole’s class was Kayak Fishing for Musky. She showed videos of her catching Muskie from her Kayak. We were able to see her Kayak and how it was set up. Nicole discussed safety items such as PFD’s , flags and lights. She also discussed letting family know when and where you are fishing when fishing alone.
Our 3rd speaker of the Diana is a Pro Musky Trail Angler. Diana recently competed in the 2021 PMTT. Her partner was our very own Amanda Wilson .Diana’s class was Tournament Fishing & Attacking New Waters. Diana discussed opportunities to fish Tournaments and the Great Experiences she had. Diana also discussed tools to help navigate new waters. Some of the tools she uses were DNR sites to suggest what colors of bait/ lures to use. She talked about Podcast , shows, books , magazines and maps as being helpful. Diane even demonstrated several lures and how the worked off the dock.
All the speakers were Awesome and Provided so much helpful information.
All attendees were paired up with volunteers with boats if needed. At the end of the day 2 Musky were caught. Both ladies were fishing with Brenda Maier of True North Guiding and Outfitters. One Custom Rod was won by one lucky Lady and the rest of the evening was for socializing.
