Chippewa Flowage – A Bit of History – Host Site for Ranger Boats World Championships 2021

This upcoming weekend is the event of the year!  The Ranger Boats World Championship.  40 Teams have qualified as a result of the Professional Musky Tournament Trail (PMTT).  The PMTT started on April 24 & 25 at Cave Run Lake in Kentucky.  Teams then entered in the second leg of the Trail on June 26 & 27 at Eagle River/Three Lakes Chain in Wisconsin.  The Final Leg was hosted by Bimidji/Cass Lake in Minnesota on August 27 & 28.

All of that leads us to the Grand Finale!  The Ranger Boats World Championship is hosted by The Chippewa Flowage of Wisconsin next weekend, September 24, 25, & 26.  Full Details about the Tournament Weekend and a list of their sponsors are HERE!

The Chippewa Flowage was created in 1923 as a result of damming the Chippewa River.  This damming combined 11 natural lakes, 9 rivers, and countless streams.  There is now over 15,000 acres of water with 140 islands throughout and more than 200 miles of wild shore line which will never have more than 15% developed.  Chippewa Flowage is a host a world class Musky Fishery and let’s not forget, has the distinct honor of being home to the World Record Musky.

Located in the heart of Sawyer County, Wisconsin’s snowmobile and ATV trail system which offers over 600 miles of well developed snowmobile trails, the Chippewa Flowage has much to offer to the outdoor enthusiast with sightseeing that could include deer, bear, herons, otters, beavers and even elk.  The Flowage offers kayaking, canoeing, boating, fishing (of course!), sightseeing, hiking trails, and cross country skiing!  There are golf courses, if your into that, shopping, fine dining, crafts, antiques, and even gaming!  Not to mention the lodging options for the out of town traveler.

Check out the Chippewa Flowage’s website and all it has to offer HERE!  Remember to check back here for up to date information about the Ranger Boats World Championship.
